The Dublin Enterprise Zone (DEZ) is a major commerce and investment hub located in the Dublin 15 area of Fingal which includes Blanchardstown, Mulhuddart, and Castleknock. The Zone supports 34,600 jobs and contributes €14.4 billion to national economic output.
The DEZ is a pro-business environment that has attracted investment by some of the world’s biggest companies over the past decade, including Paypal, Bristol Myers Squibb, and BMS.
Containing 20 business parks with approximately 1,100 business premises, it consists of 1,571 hectares of land primarily zoned for Office, Research & Development, High Technology Manufacturing, Industrial, General Enterprise and Employment. There is potential to create an additional 20,000 jobs on 716 hectares of undeveloped, zoned and serviced land which is available in the Zone.
The location of the Dublin Enterprise Zone on the edge of Dublin City allows easy access to 1.2 million consumers, a large well-qualified labour force and numerous suppliers. Dublin International Airport and Dublin Port are located a short distance away, and there are five separate Dublin Bus Routes traversing the Zone.
Paypal Vice President, Louise Phelan, described the area as “an ideal business location, with fantastic talent, a nearby international airport and excellent road network”.
The Zone is part of the wider Fingal County Council area, which boasts an array of thriving towns, beautiful coastlines, and diverse populations that make it a desirable and enjoyable place to live and operate from.
The Dublin Enterprise Zone’s success to date is due to the significant investment which has taken place in hard and soft infrastructure by Fingal County Council, IDA Ireland and the private sector over the last 20 years. Fingal County Council is committed to continued investment, management and promotion of the Zone in the coming years.
